This is another one of those "I need help with a head unit" topics. I tried the search function and did not find what I was looking for. Anyways, I'm looking to replace my stock head unit. I have heard a lot of good things about the Alpine iDA-X305S, but I have an issue with it and would like to find recommendations for alternatives. The problem I have with the iDA-X305S is that it does not have a built-in CD player. So, I was wondering if anyone can suggest any similar alternatives to this head unit that includes a CD player.

So basically, I'm looking for a head unit that is as capable with iPods as the iDA-X305S, but includes a cd player.

 

Clarify "capable". What capabilities of the X305S are you specifically wanting? Many head units offer iPod interfaces that allow you to control the iPod. What makes the X305S different and desirable over the others for you?

 

im seeing more and more head units go away from CDs. dunno why you would want CD capability though??? they take up room in your car, are annoying to deal with, get ruined if you scratch them, and you can carry more music on an ipod/iphone/usb drive.

I have the 305s and i love it. the built in pandora controls are my favorite part.
