Default HON03/PC-SON stopped working?

as the title says ...

installed the HON03/PC-SON into the CD Aux on MY04 head unit so that I could play my iPod throught the stock set up...

after a year of working seamlessly it has suddenly stopped functioning... the head unit is working fine...

is there a way to check that it's the HON unit or the head unit that has malfunctioned? or do I just go and replace with the NEO iON unit I found on mp3yourcar.com - pricey at 200 bucks - but its marketing copy sounds good?

any thoughts experiences recommendations appreciated...

thanks.

for the o4 OEM head unit does the CD AUX run off a separate fuse?

if yes, is the on the head unit or under dash drivers knee?

checking the manual this morning. but my electronics knowledge is limited...so help is appreciated.

I just put in a Dension iceLink for my iPod, and it works great. For $200, it charges the iPod, gives you a line-in, includes a nice cradle, and lets the steering wheel controls (to left of wheel) control the iPod.

For the original poster -- I suppose you already checked to make sure all the connections are still OK, and the Cd changer plug did not work loose?

As far as I know, Neo is just repackaging Dension iceLinks now, so it's likely the same thing. I believe Neo sells the version with the plain dock cable, while Dension sells the version with the cradle (with options for the dock cable if you buy directly). I got the Dension with the cradle at Best Buy.
