Default Headunit Install Question

On the side of tehstock hu is the mounting bracket.

On my new HU there is no place for the mounting bracket. My new HU came with the standard slide backet. How do you mount the slide bracket into the stock area. Just so you know on my car (OEM or not) there is a big open space and there is no area for the slide bracket to "mount" to. It would just be sitting there in open space (on top of the srs ecu).

Is this the way most of you do it or is there a mount kit of some type?

Take the two brackets off your factory head unit - two phillips head screws on each side of the factory radio and screw them onto your new head unit

My new HU is a blaupunkt cd-Navi. Yes I have removed the slide bracket. And Yes I am sure it does NOT have the side mounting holes.

RNS149.

Have the manual. Does not say anything about installation other then wiring and to mount the GPS unit to the outside of the car.
