Default Help with HU Mounting brakets

the mounting brakets just won't come off the stock s2k radio. It was 2am by the time I hardwired my radar dector, ipod and headunit.. and I was putting it back together and no matter what the screws just don't want to come out of the stock radio.

Anyone else have this problem and can give me a hand?

Yeah, those screws are extremely tight. I'm pretty sure everyone has experienced this. Use a large phillips screwdriver and gently hammer it in place and they should come out. However, it still can be a pain.

First off, don't use a wrong size or cheap screwdriver or you will bugger up (technical term) the head and then really have trouble.

I was able to get 3 of the 4 out of mine with a quality screwdriver, but the 4th would not budge. I used a pair of genuine Vicegrips locked onto the screw AND the screwdriver at the same time to turn it while one of my sons held the radio.

If you ever take a plant tour of the S2000 plant, when they introduce you to the guy or gal who puts the radio bracket on greet them with a little wave or keep your hands in your pockets. YOU DO NOT want to shake hands with them
