I recently bought my 2001 silverstone and the top wont go up. I think it might be because when I pull up my ebrake it doesn`t turn the light on. (the car has aftermarket slotted rotors, possibly something wasn`t installed right.) The car also has a viper alarm if that makes any difference.
I noticed the switch has five wires on the back side. Could I have a bad switch?

 

It's your e-brake sensor. it needs to be engaged for you to raise or lower your top. You can find it if you take off your center console. and look by your e-brake. It's a simple device that opens a circuit when your e-brake is engaged, it's not working. It sould be a simple fix unless the alarm has something to do with it.
