Default Speaker size confusion

I've been searching the forum and getting mixed ideas on what size the front speakers are on a 2002. I thought they were 6.5 with a .75 tweeter. However, I'm seeing 5.25 and JLAudio.com says 6.0... Which is it?

6.5 mid range and you can fit larger tweeters in the stock location with a little work

I just recently installed some 6.5" Infinity perfects in my 02. So definitely 6.5" will fit.

acutally its a euro style, about 6 3/16 inches. most 6.5's will fit, but some of the high end ones with bigger magnets and deeper woofers won't and you will need lucid's metal brackets to make them fit.

Or you could save the money and just cut the back out of the stock speaker basket. You don't 'need' Lucid's brackets.

I already have the speaker baskets cut. My 6.5" speakers were too large for the hole, the woofer speaker was to deep to fit in properly. The s2k speakers are not a true 6.5". do a search sometime about it.

these are the speakers I use: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=11412

Hey Convict,

I'm thinking of getting the same speakers. Did you have to cut the basket or add a spacer or bracket to fit the midrange/woofer? What about the tweeter? Is that a simple screw job?
