Help Routing iPod Cable in Center Console
I recently purchased a 2007 S2000 and immediately decided to swap the head unit. Last night I was able to get the lower portion of the center console apart and get the factory head unit out. My next task is to get the Alpine iPod cable routed back along the console and up into the secret compartment. Here are my issues...
1) Head unit to console
I cannot find a way to get from where the head unit is into the center console. I see one loom of wires going back that way (I think it goes to the rear speakers or maybe just the 12V outlet) but I can't seem to find any other "holes" to use to get back into this area. Here is the area I am talking about...(links since the pics are big)

2) Secret Compartment to Console
Is there a way to get into the secret compartment without removing the entire upper console section? I removed the panel shown in the picture below and figure I might be able to drill my hole and drop the cable down and then route it around. However, I figured I would ask before I go drilling. I saw somewhere that removing the entire console is somewhat time consuming. Here is the rear area with the panel removed so far...
Rear Console Section
If this proves to be too much of a pain, I would also be up for putting the iPod in the lower glove box section.
3) Access for DCI location
It was suggested to me that I put the DCI behind the small panel in the upper right of picture 1 just above the net. I removed one screw from this panel. Should it just pop out now?
My wife is not happy since I have her car torn apart so any help to walk me through this would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks!

Any additional insight on getting the wires into the compartment and also from the head unit into the console?

All I did was run the wire underneath the piece that sits around the shift knob and e-brake and then routed it through the ebrake slot. My ipod nano sits like this:
I borrowed the pic from SB2007 and just used paint real quick...

Was there a trick getting the cable from the iPod TO the head unit? I didn't poke around for too long but at first glance I could not find a good access method.
I like the nano in your location...very easy to get to.
