Tim Baillie from HZEmall Customs has done a lcd setup like that many many times.
Not in an S2000 he hasn't. I've talked to Tim before and he hasn't done this on an S and I doubt you've done it or seen it before. Nice try though.

I have to admit I have been eyeing this location for a drop-down Nav/CarPC screen. Nice job, you're really good at sculpting to blend with the surroundings.

Few Questions:

1 -Can you remind me how big your screen is?
2 -Did you consider a dropdown?
3 -Did you consider re-mounting the maplights and doorlight switches underneath your new screen console?

I was thinking about sculpting a dropdown smallish screen and incorporating the maplights. All this would fit above the mirror, which I would like to keep.

The main thing holding me back is getting a spare trim part to experiment on. I'm always shy about cutting into my original parts. (If anyone has an extra, let me know. I'm also looking for a driver's visor.)

Again, nice job!

Thanks! I'll try and answer your questions as best as I can.

1. 5.8: Alpine TME-M580. Perfect size to mold into that location with out to much hassle.

2. I didn't consider it because I planned on using a rearview camera Plus I'm not sure if you could install a drop down style screen. Those are setup to fold into itself. It locks into itself when it closes. So you'd have redesign the support for it to close into to. If you had a hardtop you could install it onto the hardtop but I honestly don't think you'll have enough space to do what your trying to do... not that it should stop you from trying it out. I wish you lived closer so I could give you a hand I'm always up for a challage like that.

3. I'm replacing the map lights with LED's instead. There much smaller and easier to mount after this setup is installed. Once I have it completed I'll take pictures of the lighting and so forth. I'm relocating the switches for the map lights to a new location.

If you need any help with your project let me know. I'd be glad to help you out a little.

Cheers,
-John

Yeah, what he said...
As he mentioned that the screen was installed somewhere where no one else had installed it, it wasn't visible in the photos, and there are cords running up to the seats you can imagine where I thought he'd installed it!

And the fact that he's using suede just clinched it.
