Honda LED Alarm Question
I have a 2003 Honda S2000 with the Honda alarm system. I got the car from a Honda dealer about a month ago. The LED next to the emergency brake have never worked (flashed). I know I can take the car back to the dealer, but that is a pain to arrange an appointment and another car so Honda can have mine for the day.
The alarm works just fine, just no LED. I was going to pul the console and replace the LED myself, but I understand that removing the console is a major task. Does anyone know which wires (colors?) are run from the LED on the console to the alarm module under the driver's seat?
Thanks for any help.

It's easiest to just pull the console and examine the connections to the LED. I think the proximal part of the LED wiring is just part of the alarm harness and doesn't have any user modifications. The distal part is different. It runs from the alarm box under the seat along the door sill, behind the seat and under the glove box. At the termination in the console, there is a plug-socket connection between the LED and the wiring. The two possibilities here are:
1. The wiring is backwards. If the alarm was user-installed, the wires are reversed at this junction and therefore the LED won't light. You would reverse the connections here to fix it.
2. The most likely problem: Someone pulled the console, disconnected the wire and then did not re-insert the plug into the jack. Hence, no connection, no LED. Open the console and see if it is connected. There is only one plug that will fit this jack anyway, so you couldn't make a mistake.

Thanks for the information. I will pull the console and check the light and the connector plug. The dealer put the alarm in and the light has never flashed since I got the car. Thanks again!
