How much Poly-Fill
How do you know how much poly-fill you should use. I have a single 12" sealed enclosure. I heard that poly-fill makes a big difference. I have searched and not found any answers.
Thanks in advance.

It can make a big difference, by making the woofer perform as if it's in a larger enclosure.
Generally, 1 pound of polyfill per cubic foot of enclosure volume is recommended, but by no means is that the only amount that will work.
Try it with and without and let your ears be the judge. It's a cheap experiment!

If the enclosure is the correct volume for the sub - no fill required. If the enclosure is smaller than specified by the sub - loosly fill the enclosure. You may need to test it out with no fill or varying amounts to see what sounds best.
Not knowing what sub you have or the volume of the enclosure makes it impossible to even tell you where to start

Hmm... well my 10 VQ sub is in a 1 cubic box and I put 1.5 pounds of the stuff in the box. It's pretty much packed in there....
Should I take some out? Crutchfield advice: "Use 1 to 1-1/2 pounds of Poly-Fil per cubic foot of box volume." -- hmmmmmm

Driv300mph how does your sub sound with the poly-fil? Did you try out it without all the filling?
I have a 12" Nitro 1000 Watt Sub. I still have to get the box I am just trying to get some input before I put everything together.
