I've done it a few times myself in different cars, and i still haven't decided if i'm gonna do the the work myself this time...but i got quoted $200 to install a set of components, run the wiring for my amp and dynamat extreme the doors and trunk.

but if you've never done it before, and are even slightly mechanically inclined, do it youself...it was actually alot of fun, and you learn alot.

$200 dollars to do the above is a good price from a shop.

I finally did my head unit and front speakers last nite, plus the left hand controls DCI adapter.

I took some of the wiring to work, and sat at my desk with a pair of crimpers, and carefully did the connections between the Modifry DCI, the stereo adapter, and the Alpine harness. It actually took a couple hours because it was the first time I have done a DCI and I was being careful.

But when I got home, I just plugged it in, and it worked the first time.

That $200 is a decent price for all that. Wiring the amp is a PITA, especially if its to the components.

As far as charging more for products you do not sell, around here, if you buy stuff at the store, its usually either a free install, or like $15/hour. If you bring in your own stuff, its usually between $45-$60/hour. I could see them quoting you $120-$150 and it being fair.

Just let Dave help you out. It will be done right the first time.
