True that. But it isn't a question answered with a simple link to available dashboard control solutions.

The amount of info that has been compiled for what we are doing with respect to vehicle electronics in the FAQs is an incredible resource that is quite humbling for those of who are new to the S2k community. At the same time it is sometimes a daunting task to extract relevant tidbits of info for a specific query in light of the many ways one can pose any given question. You are likely in a better position than me to quantify how many times the same questions get asked here when the answers are already online in the FAQs

Before I step into a really deep pile here, I am not volunteering to compile a new list of summary links at the moment.

I am getting ready to buy:

An Alpine CDA-9851 head unit
Modifry DCI wired adapter
Modifry Wire Harness

Question: I want to hookup my Creative Labs MP3 player to RCA input. Does anyone know if I need to buy that Alpine IPOD Alpine KCA-420i adapter, or not?

In other words, does the Alpine come with *any* input jacks for a player, without buying Alpine KCA-420i adapter?

Thanks in advance

One more question:

I had one of the first Alpine MP3 CD decks, and the MP3 fast forward function was S-L-O-W ( also the interface was sucky).

Now the interface looks improved, does anyone know if they speeded up the MP3 fast forward?

The KCA-420i is for an Ipod, and only an Ipod. You'll need to use a different adapter for you CL mp3 player. There are quite a few out there though. I thought we just had a thread on this the other day... well could have been a or 2 by now but I its not that old... I'll try and dig it up for you.
