Dont forget Randman has an '06 AP2... you will need to pull the center console as well so that you can put everything back together correctly.
Dave ROR, nice pics, I'm looking to do something like that. I was going to use a tapered reamer to cut the hole, much more controlled than a drill bit and I can get the hole size exactly how big or small I want it. I also wanted to do one of the rubber fittings like you have, can you tell me where you got that?
I have the center console off, and the 2 flat plastic pieces behind the seats, but kinda left it there until I can get some more direction on where to go.

Thank you so much for that help, I will give it a shot tomorrow, but if anyone has pictures of all the screws redily available, I'd love to check them out. So far I have removed the 2 at the very bottom under the console, the 1 in the glove box, the 2 that are on either sides underneath the panels I removed, and the 4 at the very top of the secret compartment.
If no one else does I'll pull the pics off my camera tonight and resize them for you. But it sounds like you need to put the top up, remove the pushclips from the vert tray to push it down about 1" (push down the front side that is) then you'll feel the two screws holding that rear cover one, once that's removed you'll be able to feel the last three screws.
It's a pain in the a....

I put the top up last night to see if I could feel anything, I did feel the 2 push clips, but left them, they felt like they were on another un-related piece. If there is a pic available, I'd like to check it out before I go and remove every piece of plastic from my car lol.
My cable modem is down (but my neighbors connection and unprotected wireless AP is up
). This laptop doesn't have anything installed on it though. I'll be at work late tomorrow for a server migration but I'll bring the microdrive and reader in with me to get the pics to you.

Of course the only pics I didn't take were of the clips but you can get the basic idea from the pics I did take and from an explanation..
Here you can see the tray pushed down a little and the hole from one of the push clips. There are 4 clips total, you need to release them by gently (ie, not so hard that the center pin pushes completely out) pushing on the pin in the middle, there are two towards the center and one and each side of the tray. There are also 3 clips that attach the tray to the rear tray panel that I removed but I don't think they need to be removed and they were a pain in the a$$ to reinstall so I wouldn't touch them...

you can also sorta see the two screws that need to be removed, here's better (sorry for the blurry pics) shots of where the screws are located (they are removed in these pics though).

And here are pics of the last three screws after you unsnap/remove the cover held in by the two screws you just removed and some clips that will pop out (as with any plastic panel with clips, be careful and work slowly and try to feel where the clips are and pull directly out near the clips), sorry for the blurry pics again, my cam sucks with short distance shooting, even in macro mode. the 3 screws (middle one in both pics) are the shiny things lower than the hinges...

Feel free to ask any other questions and I'll try to help.
