Well I wasn't trying to sound sarcastic or anything... I actually did some searching for you before I posted that and ran across this:

Well, maybe somebody has theirs not-installed and can help you with that...

If you've already tried all four options for the two switches and you're not getting any response then try getting a digital camera in video mode or a camcorder and use that to see if you can see the IR Light come on when you press the dash buttons.

The first one he sent me nothing worked on it, I re-checked all my wires and then used this method and discovered that it wasn't sending any signal, so I contacted him and he replaced it for me in a timely manner.

Good luck to ya.

Uhmmm dip switches 1 and 2 aren't even used on my DCI.

It's going to depend on which version of the DCI you have.. we need more info to answer your question.

According to the Modifry DCI-2 instructions:

"Switches 1 and 2 are not used - Setting them ON or OFF will not affect the operation of the DCI".

Switch 4 is set based on whether or not you connect the DCI blue wire to the Alpine head unit. Up (OFF) if you connect the blue wire, and down (On) if you don't.

Switch 5 is set based on whether or not you want Tap-n-Press functionality. Down (ON) if you want Tap-n-Press, up (OFF) if you don't.

All the other switches (for Alpine) should be down (ON).
