Smile I got Alarm that is not factory..

So I went to a different dealership today to get a quote to isntall the optional hodd switch alarm because my home dealership charge me 300buck to install.

The new dealership gave me a quote for only 50buck to install. So I was hell yea and makes the appointment.

Then later the mechanic who was checking out my car to see if it do able. it turns out that he says it not factory honda alarm it an aftermarket alarm DI something. He says the brand is Viper. I was like WTF!!
I am furious. So now I thought that is why it cost 300 buck because it not factory. If it is then it only 50buck. damn.

So what can I do at this point? How can I fix this problem that I have with the dealer finance guy told me that this is the best alarm they have and it factory. How can i Prove it?

My plan right now is that I ask the finance lady at the new dealership to see if she can help me work out a plan to get my money back. I'm still waiting for her call.

I also want to talk to the finance guy that sold me the alarm and talk over the phone and get a voice record and hopefully he will tells me what I want it to hear and have him busted.

Any suggestion to what I can do ?

Did you ask for an Oem alarm or did you just say alarm? Check your PO and see what alarm they installed. The Viper has more features than the OEM anyway.

I would be happier with the DEI alarm if it is installed propperly.

As long as it is DEI/Viper alarm, I wouldn't worry about it too much. DEI is a very well known aftermarket alarm company. I would still look up your PO to see you did not get overcharged for the alarm.

the oem alarm is basically a plug and play unit which is why it was quoted so cheap to install.

A DEI aka Viper alarm is most certainly not plug and play. It has many more security features built in including a SHOCK SENSOR which the oem alarm lacks.

Stick with the Viper Alarm. Much more functionality. Depending on the shop, they may be able to integrate the aftermaket alarm into your stock keyless entry remote (the oem remote). I've seen it done before on Viper's & Clifford's.

Well I got the OEM Hood Switch for the car. If the alarm were the OEM one then installing of the Hood Switch will be easy for like 50buck. But then Since it now my home dealership say there will be 3 components to that and each one is 100buck, which I have to put in 300buck to get the hood switch install. And the alarm was original install for 400buck.

The OEM hood switch I bought at handa-accessories only cost 60buck. so I have to put in 300 just to install with the DEI alarm that I have right now. The mechanic says it doesn't even have the kill switch, because I could have sworn I heard the Financial Guy told me that it have it that why I accepted the offered.

An aftermarket hood pin is only a few dollars. Any DEI dealer will add it in for less than 50 bucks. If the kill switch isnt hooked up, its a matter of wiring, the components are there.
