Default I need answers to some audio questions

OK, this isn't for my S, but I didn't know who to ask. I am wanting to do an install on my boat, which is already wired for a HU and 4 car speakers. I want to replace the old HU with a Kenwood KDC-MP228, since it has changer controls. I then want to see if this works with the HU for my visual needs: Kenwood KDV-S210P. Now is where I am having trouble. I need to buy either a monitor or LCD TV for the wall. I want to run the DVD changer to it, which I don't think will be a problem. Do they make something that I can plug my cable into (It comes in on the dock) and use it with all of this stuff. I couldn't find anything to work with cable and mobile electronics, but then again I don't know where to look. Is this possible, and what are the products? If I left anything out, which I am known to do, please ask.

Thanks!!

what cable are your talking about, i am a lil confused.

basically, hook it up like a car. power and a/v cables ran to the radio or changer, whichever works.

Well, based on the info from the link you posted, the unit works with any head unit, factory or aftermarket. Could be rf modulated, details were slim in the description.

In either case, you can do one of three things. The video output from the dvd player will go to the monitor you choose regardless, however on the audio side you could either run the unit through the kenwood via rf modulator if thats how that particular unit runs; you can utilize the din input on the head unit for the changer controls for the audio, but Im thinking the units wont be compatible through a din cable (lack of info on the link to the dvd player)...anyhow, if a din cable is supplied with the dvd player you could try; or if the head unit you have has some kind of aux. in you can run the audio cables from the dvd player to that input and you're done.

Not sure if this will help, but I believe Clarion makes marine audio equipment thats fully waterproof. I just started working at a car audio shop and was flipping through the catalog and saw them. Also they are customizing a boat right now.

MR ASDF - It is my cable television provider. The marina provides it with my slip fee.

IShift - Thanks, I was thinking most of that, but the cable television issue is still there.

revhi - This is in the cabin area, and doesn't have to be waterproof. I actually have water proof Clarion ordered for the fly bridge.
