A good headunit for me?
I wasnt expecting to visit you audio guys quite yet, I had a lot of performace upgrades to tend to first, but a nice Mp3 for christmas has lead me here. To get the most out of it it needs to be used in the S. This is where I need your help, I was quite a car/audiophile years back (10-15yrs.) Now I dont know crap as far as the new Tech.
I want to start with a new headunit, my stock MY06 sounds OK for a stock unit with a good cd. FM sucks. What I want to do is upgrade the sound, and be able to interface my Mp3 (sanza) with minimal loss in clarity. I have seen some units with USBs right in the front(which sounds to be ideal?),and some with AUX imputs if front also. When I fadded out of the audio scene Alpine Eclipse and Clarion were tops. I need something with clean good power, with my Mp3 needs. AMPS and speakers will come later, I think the bug has bit again, another wagon Im about to fall off. Your help is welcomed, those store guys dont know crap!

ooh, i kno a bit bout Mp3's
not so much bout car installation tho. but i am quite teh audiophile
be sure to look for a USB on ur head unit, my friend bought a Pioneer (i think its pioneer, i want it too) Head Unit with a USB port right on it for bout $200 from best buy, i love it. u can just plug up ur flash drive or mp3 player, and it reads files n folders off it like a drive on ur PC (no need to turn on the mp3 player if its an ipod or thing ike that, just connect it n itll read it as a drive)
id surely recommend avoiding AUX input, its really popular on head units from wat ive seen, but its horribly crappy sound, very muffled when it comes to Mp3's... and its only half as loud as CD! so u have to turn it wayy up, and if u forget when u put a cd back in... god help ur hearing.
well thats wat i kno.
