Alrighty the time has come for me to change the system over again and my installer (who happen to be my brother... ) is looking to see what you all have done, to get ideas of what he might try over the winter while the car is of the road. I don't want to copy anyone just to get a good feel of what looks good to me and what not... Last year we tried to keep the trunk useable..this year where going to use the whole trunk.
So lets see them!!!!
These are the install from this year:
at the time these picture were taken it was just about done, needed only the trim installed.
rather than show you trunks on s2k's, since you are serious about filling up the trunk, go to www.streeteffectz.com and check out their galleries. That should give you tons of ideas.
Being the pic that I am here you go.....as PJ said my trunk is set up to retain/gain as much space as possible as my car is a daily driver used for hauling lots o stuff.
Good luck with your project! Cant wait to see you new setup! Your last one was awesome!!!
All those systems are really nice. How does having amps on your trunk lid work out?
I really want and need a system in my car, but the problem i have heard (fom other S owners) is that when adding a sub the rattles are way too loud. Do you have a remedy?? I was thinking of adding an 8" in the cabin if I could keep the rattles down with a 10" in the trunk.

Well I'll tell ya... having the amps on the deck lid is really nice looking but very heavy. I had planned to add and actuator to open and close the trunk with the trunk button on our key fob, but I just never did it, just lazy I guess. Now that the season is over my stereo tech who happens to be my brother is working with me to redesign a new system. Last year we worked with the thought of keeping the trunk useable but this year we're not worried about it, and we're going to use the whole trunk space.
As for the Sub... Mine doesn't rattle really at all, but I have the entire trunk covered in DanaMat. My brother took the time to cut each piece and do the entire trunk, and he did a great job because the thing doesn't make a sound. He even did the plastic panel that the top folds into, with little squares...took forever.
Just take your time if your doing it yourself. Planning is key. Think about what you'd like, design it in your head then adapt your design to fit into the car. Draw it out on paper measure each thing 10 times, then check again, have your friends look at your idea to give you a different view of it... good or bad.
Biggest mistake people make when doing an install is not designing it first, and just throwing everything into the car and hopeing it will work. If it takes you 2 months well then it took 2 months whatever.... draw out your plan and then work your plan.
