I want some quality sound here comon!
Okay first of all its said that my girlfreinds 2001 Bettle has Monsoon Stereo and sounds better then mine. My 98 corvette i used to have was kinda getting old and rattly, but the sound never distored like that and was a hell lot of good base. So guys i been hearing that with a new DASH UNIT you will get better sound is this true? I went to Sound Advise today here in Orlando florida and was looking at a few options for my car; which were none, but the JL stealth box with the 10 subwoofer. If I do this setup with an aftermarket Head Unit, will my sound be clean and not sound distored any longer? or will I have to upgrade the stock door speakers too? I really dont feel like wasting more money on the stereo then I have to because those guys gave me a bill of 1500 with tax for the Jl stealth, the unit i picked out which was a 400 dollar unit, and labor. And just one other thing... S-pods are they worth it and will they work with all that aftermarket stuff?
Sorry for writing so much and making it into a big ball of blabber, but i would just like to know thanks guys!

$1500 that seems steep for what you are getting.
The 400 for the head unit does that include installation or was that the actual cost for the unit.
The hardest part about installing a system in the S2000 is running the power wire through the fire wall grommet behind the battery; which is really not that hard.
My total setup cost me 1350 by going through ebay.
Price includes
Boston GT-50
Boston Z6
Power wire and RCA setup
Alpine CDA-9835
I install everything my self with no problems. (Worked as an installer for 2 years before I went off to school.)
Some other things that are now in the system (not included in the price above)
Six x 6.5 inch subwoofers
Two Alpine Pro Bass Shakers
And some professional recording studio processors
If you decide to install it your self and need a hand shoot me a PM I am in Titusville.

I went the recommended route and upgraded to an Alpine HU w/ iPod adapter. This was only marginally better than the stock sound. I since decided to go a more intensive route and now have a system that sounds beautiful. The stealthbox is a very good purchase. I am very pleased with mine. $1,500 does sound too much for what you are being offered. Unless you are totally uncomfortable to do the work yourself, you should source the product online and do it yourself. I've seen many people pay out the nose for shoddy work that they could have done better themselves even as rookies and at least they'd been careful about not breaking things, etc.
