pre-out voltage became a marketing gimmic, much like touting the built-in amp's peak power rather than RMS. it's not that big of a deal, especially given the short RCA runs in an automobile. consider audiophile home audio equipment. do you see output voltage as a marketing point for preamps? no, because it doesn't matter. most home audio equipment is set for 1-1.5v max preamp out/amp in.
