Default Installed headunit, dash lights wont light up

Hi, I installed a headunit with the modifry adapter harness, install was good. Radio works, all functions work, however everytime i start up my car, the dash clock resets, also the lights on the air control, etc. don't light up. Is there a certain wire I forgot to plug in? If so can someone tell me the color? Or did I happen to blow a fuse?
Thanks a lot!

take out your radio, and there will be a orange wire with a white strip. try grounding that. (thats if you have a plug and play aftermarket harness.) if you dont and you hacked up your old harness, then the wire color should be black with red strip i believe. or red with black strip? i forgot.

that wire is called Illumination wire

if your clock resets every time you start the car it sounds like you may have switched the accessory and constant power wires. check your wiring and make sure your yellow and red wires arent mixed up.

if its your dash that doesnt light up check your fuses. if its the deck that doesnt change with the switch you missed the illum wire.

Hey guys, thanks for the reply. I'd like to note that the full orange wire on the aftermarket is the illumination switch and the orange with white strip is dimmer. the dimmer needs to be grounded. I accidentlly grounded the orange wire (illumination switch) and it blew the parking light fuse, license plate light, etc. and I had to replace that fuse under the dash.
thanks again!
