I bent the metal by taping it up so I would not scratch it and using a dead blow hammer. The wires behind the radio have been documented on this site and I did not take pics, as I did it last year. The radio has the option for rear speakers, it just does not have pins in the connector. You can purchase the pins, our a metra harness that has the honda connector. Search on the site for the radio pin out diagram and label the wire and run down the side of the center console or under it. It worked out great. If someone already has the links and posts them here, you will have everything you need to do this.

Pretty sweet, but aren't those vents in the panels for a reason? I also have speakers in that panel but I just cut a hole and mounted some OEM door speakers in them beside that vent. I didnt really want to bend the metal back there so I just used some spacers so it will clear, so the speaker stick out of the panel a little but it doesnt look to bad, and nobody is ever looking behind the seats anyways.

Very cool. Also interested in the functionality of the vents.

Just thinking about it, they probably have to do with the A/C recirculation. I'm not to sure on that but correct me if i'm wrong.

I would not think they are part of the the recirculation, as they would vent to the trunk. I just put the top down when I need air flow. Plus the area is not entirely closed off, but it is restricted now.

I believe when in convertible mode, these vents are used to circulate air through the cabin, probably more important for colder climates. however, the idea of adding some extra speakers int he cabin is a great idea.

Could the vents possibly be there so that on hot humid days the moisture in the trunk can circulate so it doesn't get musty back there???

Yes, I read that they are there to circulate some air in the trunk. Also in the event you have the smell of gas or exhaust fumes. They are restricted, but not completely blocked.

I drove the car today, no smell or after effects. My car is garaged, so I am not worried about the air movement in the trunk. Besides, I can easily find vents to cut into the other side if it becomes a problem.

For the first time every, I can say that I had to lower the volume on my stereo because it was too loud. I had it up to 4 bars and it was more than enough for driving around town about 50 mph. I did not try it on the freeway. Also, the top was down, so this may blow your ears with the top up. I was skeptical of how it would sound since it was behind the seat. I must tell you that this spot is perfect. The sound seems to find a path around the seat at the top and the side. I love the moddification and the new sound. I almost could not even hear the door speakers.
