Default Installing AMP behind head unit

I'll be replacing the stock headunit in my AP2 with a digital media receiver. I am cross-shopping popular models like the Kenwood Excelon KMM-X705 and the Power Acoustik CP-71W.

I've read that these receivers are shorter than the original headunit because they don't include a CD player. It seems that some people are able to fit a mini amp behind their receiver. I really like this idea as it would minimize wiring. Can anyone share their setup?

Pioneer digital media receiver, short body. Installed Pioneer Class D amp in unused space behind hu.

Tie wrapped in place.

Class D, no heat. No need for heavy gauge cable to battery.

Can you share the model number of your Pioneer receiver? I want to see its dimensions and how they compare to others on the market.
