Installing Blaupunkt Woodstock DAB54 head unit
Hey guys
First post in hear so treat me gently!!
I've just bought a new head unit, a Blaupunkt Woodstock DAB 54 - http://www.blaupunkt.co.uk/7644708310_main.asp - but it didn't come with a wiring harness.
Can I assume that the harness that's already in my S2000 with the standard head unit will just plug straight in, or is this a very bad thing to do?!
Any advice would be appreciated - thank you.

If you want to still use the dash controls with your new HU, you will need something like Modifry's DCI. If you decide to do this, get the Honda wiring harness too because it will have two extra wires that you need for the DCI. Then you hook up the wires from the harness that came with your HU to the wires in the Honda harness to make your own adapter.
I dont know it Modifry makes one for Blaupunkt models....I would check before you just buy one. I think MOST of the IR DCI's are compatible. If he doesnt make one, if you send him your remote, I am sure he can just re-program one for you.
Also, yes you will need an adapter, unless you are extremely fond of soldering
. Any audio store should have them, or you can order from Crutchfield.com for pretty cheap.

Thanks for your help guys
I have an adapter on order for the dash controls, but it won't be here for a while so what I might do is find an aftermarket harness and see if I can get it installed without the dash controls over the weekend and report back
It's supposed to be quite a good unit, but being DAB it'll only work in the UK/Europe as I don't think you have DAB over there? (I guess Sirius etc. is your DAB alternative)
Thanks again for your help.

Well I've fitted the unit, albeit without the dashboard controls until the adapter comes.
I managed to get a wiring adapter from a local car accessories outlet
The sound is far better than the stock unit, even though it's still going through the OEM speakers at the moment (guess what I'll be changing next!!).
Installation was really easy, once I'd installed the DAB aerial and routed the cabling etc.
I'm really chuffed that I managed to do it, and that I didn't break anything!!!
