Exclamation Installing portable GPS into the dash

I has thinking about buying this bezel for $95

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-S2000...sQ5fAccessories

And using a Garmin 7200 7" GPS to fit onto the bezel.

As for the wiring I already have a garmin adapter hardwired so there will be no wires showing

I want to do this for a number of supporting reasons

1. Garmin's are very easy to use compared to most headunits
2. I don't watch movies, especially in a small car like the s2k
3. I travel a lot so I use a GPS often
4. I like the stock radio the way it is, with the controls on the side ect.
5. The whole project would cost around $450 which is very cheap

Tell me what you think

i saw some people do this with different types of 2dins but they lost the pass vents. it'd be interesting to see how it comes out. Do you know that bezel points to the right side? some people were saying that they got it to flex a little with a heat gun. good luck with the project. post pictures of it when you are done. Also, do you plan on making it easy to remove for when the car is parked or so you can update it with new maps?

Whoa, I didn't even know Garmin made a navigation unit with a screen that large! I think what you have planned is a great idea.

If you haven't already, check out this thread. These guys are the masters of dash cutting. Also, I'm not sure about the 7200's compatibility but the Garmin ecoRoute HD is a nice addition for diagnostics and longs trips.

that eco route is cool! I will definitely look into that! So far I am looking and measuring various 7inch GPS's around local electronic stores
