my 2000 AP1 that came standard with no Factory alarm, just the keyless entry with keychain remote, doors lock and unlock perfectly until right now when i am installing aftermarket alarm (Viper 5002) and the DRIVER side door isnt locking or unlocking (i do hear a noise) but passenger side door is locking and unlocking working perfectly.

what can be the problem?

 

wait, you hear a noise but it dosen't lock?? Is the door closed when you do this, cause it will not lock when the doors open. last is take into consideration that the door locks are 7yrs old. maybe its time to buy a new one

 

yes door is closed, but how come it locked when i had oem keyless entry? well i guess i can give it a try and replace it, the DOOR actuator needs to be replaced?

 

try this, with your finger, press the lock lever(not switch) but do not push it. Try to help it lock without putting too much pressure to lock it with your finger. If it locks then you have a bad/weak door lock accuator. If it twitches, you have a bad accuator. replace as nesessary.
