The iPhone also works like an iPod. I tried it out with my Honda Music Link in the S2K and it works. Haven't received a call but making a call (parked at home) worked with the music fading away while using the phone function. Selected a playlist and played through the car (stock) system.

 

Now if someone would try it with an Alpine full speed ...
