Default JL or Diamond Audio

Im trying to keep all subs, amps, and compents the same brand.. The two names recommended to me so far are Diamond Audio and JL Audio.. Who's better?? As far as sound quality.. Not worried about price just quality..

Sorry brotha, prepared to get flamed. Why on gods green earth would you want to keep everything the same (unless you are sponsored). It is very well known than no one brand has good everything. Its as simple as that. But, to answer your question, Diamond has good highs. Soundstream has much better amps than the other two. And Elemental Designs has much better subs than the other two. I can go on forever, but if you get the same everything, youll waste your money, as my man in another thread spent a total of 900 bucks with a system that will blow yours away. Sorry to be so blunt, but hopefully this truth will help you make a much more educated descision. (By the way, no components in audio are designed to work ONLY and especially with the same brand. JL wants you to believe that, but its BS. Get different brands, save some money, and have better sound. Dont be like the BMW guys.

IMHO & my2cents

Avoid JL and Diamond if money is not an issue. Play with brands a little bit, the best amps and speakers are made by companies that specialize in thier respective area of expertise.

Take a look, see if you can find some McIntosh auto amps.
Audioson?

You realize you're in a convertable? right?

Just Checking.

Although I agree with the two brands you mentioned Bill, they are a huuuuuge waste of money in an s2000. You wont hear their quality. Top class amps belong in a airtight lexus ls430 or something of the sort.

Nah, go for it. You must deciede what you like not us. AND DAVE: he said no limits, he knows it's a convertable. So if he's got the funds....

Dave gets a little upset when people try to get an all JL system. JL gives really high sales commisions so they sell out of shops really fast. It's good stuff, but in many circles is considered way too expensive and a foolish choice. High end FoCAL's are nice. PG makes some good stuff. Boston Acoustics high end stuff. Quart's high end stuff. Listen to it. close your eyes, don't look at price and listen. You can save money and love the way your system sounds. $$$$ doesn't always mean better. And there really is no better in car audio, just slightly different. Sound is about as subjective as music.

BTW: It looks like the Gioire is pretty sweet.

See this is the problem... I did just that... I closed my eyes listen to the Subs... Then listened to the Compenents and picked all JL stuff... Went to three different stores.. SAME results...

See my problem now.. I like the JL sound, but every says it crap??

If you like it, better than all else you istened to. then yes maybe it is for you. Understand tha the placement of the speakers inthe shop is such that they can sell the most profitable first...

So JL's are put in the best spots. speaker placement is key.

Single Voice coil vs Dual voice coil. If you want to hear about that look into amping your sub. That's where things actually get a bit confusing.
