Honestly Gio, you are better off using that money in your home system if Sound Quality is your goal.

Phil,
That's not a stereo, that's a movie theatre!

You need to get two tens for the Odyssey. Mos' Def. That's big cabin. You can always adjust the bass levels down to your liking, but you'll be hard pressed to turn them up without sufficient driver coverage. I'd save money with the two monitors. Just get one, maybe a little bigger one, but one is all you will need. Give the kids something to fight over. Take that $800 and put it towards the amp/s. Go Audioson because you've always wanted them. You can put them under the third row of seats. When the seat folds down Viola! The amps are on display!

Over power the entire system. Let those puppies breathe. however, once again, I think you can power the rears with the HU. NFR will jump on my case for this, but it is tried and true for a great soundstage.

So, what color Odyssey are you gonna get?

Is there a Gioire model of the Odyssey?

not getting the Odyssey just yet, but as far as i'm concerned -- i'll be happy w/ any color that isn't champagne/bronze. i absolutely hate that color. and it's frickin' everywhere down here in the south... imo, it looks like a really dirty white.

this whole system is a dream/fantasy right now, and i suspect that by the time i get an Odyssey different models will be out and the gear i want may be cheaper. regardless though, i think i'm in a position w/ my local dealer where i might be able to get partial sponsorship for a big install... that would be sweetness...
and who knows maybe i'll end up w/ a Caravan?? the Odysseys are crazy expensive, and selling like hotcakes w/ dealer markup down here... not to mention, they really hold value, so even used ones aren't any cheaper.

but, i am up in the air on the 2nd screen... mostly, i want that one for the road trips... so when the wife drives, Daddy plays XBox. realistically though, the XBox will probably be just my home unit w/ a temp transplant setup. still, having a 2nd screen is a pretty good chunk of change. like i said though, i'd price out screens... i'm not fixed on the Alpine options, and there are a lot of other brands making good ceiling mount screens for much much less (almost 50%). not to mention, i don't pay MSRP. most likely i'd put something generous at 2nd row, and a smallish one towards the back. remember, i have 3 kids now - so 2 different vid feeds is definitely a possiblility. especially w/ the Xbox doubling as a DVD player.
the e10o is a pretty agressive sub, but a bit more efficient than the a series. you're right though, i'm not used to a big cabin like a minivan.... i should plan for duals... i wasn't thinking about that... i'll probably need more efficient subs and/or more sub juice...

regarding mounting everything? optimally, i'd like to fab up a false floor area and put the amp(s) under plexi and the subs moulded into the side areas and the floor... realize this much -- i've only seen the interior of an Odyssey a couple times... so i'll have to spend some time in there gutting before i know what i can really do or not do...

Naww, get an Odyssey. Search the internet and find a good deal. They exist. I picked up MY99 in 2000 with less than 10 k miles for 18.5. A silver one, like I wanted. Totally stock on the outside. like i wanted, overlooked by thieves.

IMO, they are way better than a Caravan, and the top of the line Caravan can run over $38K?!!

As far as the interior is concerned just remember you bought the thing to carry stuff/kids/kids stuff. So you can't get too crazy on the amp mounts. Mine is way basic. I'll shoot some photos of it tonight when I get home, if you're interested.

Gio, are you getting Awia? Or the K-mart Spark-o-matic? J/K

BTW:sorry we hijacked your thread and turned it into a Minivan discussion. How embarrassing to go from a show system to this.

no, i'd much prefer the Odyssey over the Caravan... pricing would be the main concern that would control that decision... personally, unless my job arrangement changes, i just can't do a $30k minivan... well, not if i plan to retire by 60.
and yup, the Caravans get pricey, but unlike the Odyssey, i doubt they ever sell for MSRP. not to mention, Detriot is big into the cashback allowances and the like...

however, knowing you got your deal is a definite boon... after doing just some minor research, my hopes for a good deal were dashed.

maybe Jim will be cool and split this off for Gioire.
