Thats it, get JL. If YOU like it, thats all that matters. No one here ever said JL is crap. They (myself included) believe that better products can be had for less money. However, if you like it, thats all that counts. Get what you want and thats it. If you were happy in the store, you will be happy in your car.

Moderate Budget
Here you go.......

Speakers.....Focal or Infinity

Amplifiers.....

for speakers Soundstream Van Gogh VGA 600.2
for subwoofer Soundstream Tarantula 500.4

or Soundstream Tarantula 800.5 for everything.
Subwoofers.....

If you can, the 2003 Tarantula subs (any size)
if not, Eclipse, Phoenix Gold Ti Elite, Adire audio, Elemental Designs....

Here's a link to just that:

a little reading

but my system is not done, as I await parts. I have little money but much patience. So maybe we are from different schools.

But no matter, I think you need to listen to car stereos in cars as well as the shop. Don't ask what that person has before listening, listen first learn later.

If I had to use 2 subs I'd probably go with 10" Kicker Solobaric's if space is an issue because you can make a box fit in the tool well area. If you don't car about trunk space then go with the JL W7 in any size...I prefer the sound of a 12" and I like trunk space, so I did a JLW6V2.

Front speakers- Focal 165KP

Rear speakers-- Don't need them with Focal's in the front.

Amps- I'm still old school. I lke the Orion HCCA's and PPI. I have a 250HCCA for my sub and a PPI 2050 for my fronts(I only have Alpine 2-ways right now).

But who really cares what everyone else thinks? That's why there IS a selection because it's all about personal preference. I ddin't mind JL fronts, but for the money Focal sounds way better TO ME.

Just go get what YOU want and screw what the rest of us think!!!

actually Dave -- i thought you did say once that JL is crap... then defined crap because better could be had for the same price....

seriously though -- buying all 1 name brand gets you two things... 1 logo all over your car, and a limited selection of equipment. there are no benefits unless you're sponsored.

regarding what i would do --
"answer me these questions three, 'ere the other side ye shall see":

budget?
your favorite personal musical styles / favorite bands?
final desire for your system (trunk space saver? super loud? hear music over traffic/wind? show car/bling? accurate sound quality? uber bass?)?

Budget?? Under 6K

Favorite Music Style?? All... Everything from R+B - Rock - Country - Classical...

Desire for system?? I dont want to completely loose all my trunk space so I would like to fit the subs in the tool are. I dont mind If the floor is rasied an inch or so thou. The Amps need to fit in the spare tire area or up against a custom wall...

Super Loud/Accurate Sound quality/Uber Bass ... I want loud and I want bass.. but I do not want to sacrifice sound quality to get it.

Yes this will be part of a show car setup..

Hear music over traffic/wind.. Let just say I want to do the best I can on this subject.

You want 2 subs but want to keep trunk space??? Only 8" subs are an option for you.
