Your trunk looks great! Did you loose your spare? I have been looking at the posts about the Alphasonik gear and I have not heard anything bad about them yet. I am not sure I am ready to go that way though. I will PM John about the box Thanks!

There's just about no way around losing your spare. But you can definitely make sure the space is used properly. In the spare tire area, I have both crossovers, a cap, 2 distribution blocks, and the system ground - there are absolutely no external wires showing throughout my entire car.

Regardless of which way you go, you won't be disappointed with John doing your work.

Yeah the thing about installing a sub in the tool well is if you ever have a flat and you managed to keep the spare, you'll have almost no place to put the flat, other than letting it hang out the trunk or putting it on the front seat assuming you don't have a passenger.

I am designing a new low profile sub box but that won't be ready for a few weeks. But so far all the testing indicates that the box will be the same size as the foam tool holder in the well. So you'll be able to keep your spare. You might have a little less bass but you will be able to keep the spare.

However, I haven't had a spare since I installed the system 4 or 5 years ago.

I would leave my passenger on the side of the road and have them watch my flat tire before ever I drove on or left one of my GTU's behind.

The stealbox is awesome. But before you even consider it, look for pricing on it or decide what to power it with, you have to know from the start if you can go without a spare tire in the car. If you can, it's a great setup but if you have to have a spare, forget it.

By the way, with a JL 500.1 amp the stealthbox absolutely rocks!

I'll bet you can probably fit the flat tire in the trunk with the lid partially open as you say. Maybe you can carry a tarp and use it to isolate the dirty tire from your truck, etc.

Your ampfilier choices are excellent. You will not be dissapointed. However, I don't see how you are going to mount them and still carry your spare tire around with you. If you remove the spare you'll have space for the jack and other tools there but these won't help you without the spare in the car.

Do you frequently get flat tires?
