Just installed system....
Yeah... I posted that when I though it was going to hit LA dead on. We got a TON of rain today, and still are. I tree (150' pine) fell on my parent's neightbor's home. The thing that sucks is that the tree was on my parent'y property, so their insurance picks up the tab. We are probably around 4-6" of rain for the day. Pool is overflowing. We did not loose power, though. Winds around 30mph or less now. We are now entering the southeastern quadrant, which is kinda quiet. We probably are going to have a few more bands come through, but thats pretty much it. I wonder if this storm did the same damage Ivan did to pensacola.
I am expecting the sub box in this week sometime, I will relocate the x-overs then along with the amp power line (to the center console).
thanks
John

glad to hear you weathered it well...
we had some clouds blow in and some mild winds (sub 20 mph), but that was about it. my parents are in New Orleans and had a couple light rains and some small winds. so, LA was pretty much ignored by Dennis.
RCA's to the center console... not power.

Thanks Phil. Will do.
Another question....I noticed this HU has some sort of built in crossover / gain controls. Under the "Bass" menu there is 80HTZ, 100HTZ, and 120HTZ. Under "Treble" there is 7.5, 10, and 15 (kHTZ I am assuming). I know it is a personal thing, but what type of sound corresponds to each frequency? I am trying to tune my system, and I do not really know what will make what sound better / worse. I listen to stuff like Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2, Simple Plan, NoFX, Jimmie Eat World, etc.... (rock / alternative / punk / emo). What level of each would be appropriate and sound decent? if you could just let me know what kinda sound corresponds to each one (bass drum, bass guitar, snare, etc...) I could probably get the hang of it.
Thanks
John

actually, that looks to be similar to what i have on the wife's 9827.
depending on how you look at it... those are actually either sophisticated bass and treble settings or a very primative 2 band parametric EQ.
more practically, those settings allow you to tweak a bit more bass or treble into your sound, but also allow you to choose what frequency is your center when you 'boost' or 'turn down'.
regarding what frequencies work where.... rather than try to remember and estimate, i'm going to try and find you a few resources somewhere that illustrates it properly...
maybe i should start a new thread on this and link you in.... this could be a good addition to the FAQ as well...
