Just wondering
Best Buy has the CDA9883 on sale, $145 but this HU does not have the built in HD, that is another $185 unit to add on; OR I could pick up a JVC head unit (or others for that matter) for about $150-180 (jvc link for HU). I'm sure Alpine is a far better product, I'm not debating that, but at twice the cost, is it justified (head unit + hd module = twice the cost)? I've always had either the stock hu or an Alpine hu so I don't know much of anything other than Alpine. Would it be worth to give a JVC a shot? Don't get me wrong, I have zero comlaints about any of my previous Alpine hu's, I'm just wondering if I should look outside the family for a new love? I'm probably not going to be adding on an amp or sub (I never have on previous cars).
Thoughts?
I just thought of this, too. This is my 4th Honda so even with a stock hu, I still probably had an Alpine.

people still listen to radio?
I'm not into paying for extra equipment to listen to obnoxious commercials recorded in HD.
I'd say save your money and get the JVC... with no amp or sub to control, if you really want HD radio, you won't notice much of a difference, even IF the JVC is lower quality than the Alpine (which is debatable).
