I'll ship mine off later this week so Modifry can hook us up.

Don't let not having a remote (yet) hold you back. I've been running an AVX1 for well over a year now and it's worth it. Takes some time to get it installed right (so the radio door will close) but, again, is worth it.
What did you do to get the door to close? i thought I was SOL...I tried tucking and tucking and tucking the wires, but no luck.

I heard you have to re mount it a special way. Please enlighten me

TIA!

I cut the small bar that spans the top of the radio opening (behind the door panel) off.

I then connected wire ties to both bundles of wire (harness on one side and RCA's on the other [pass.] side).

Remove the small panels on either side of the radio opening and, as you feed the radio in, pull the wires off to the side with the zip ties.

There is a large black box hooked up to the harness. You're going to have to move it around as well.

Once you get the radio in deep enough you are going to have to adjust it. (tilting the front up and down for example) This is going to require you to install the door plate, hit eject, take the plate back off, adjust the radio, repeat until it works.

When done it should clear the top/inside of the radio door through it's whole motion (all tilt levels and eject). But it's only going to clear by, about, 1mm. It takes some time.

I'll take pictures of mine when I remove it this week and post them up. Should give you an idea of what I mean. I'll also try and remember to post up some pictures of the re-install once I get it back.

It is a frustrating process but it looks damn good once done.

pictures of your uninstall would be very helpful, thanks. so would you say the main problem with the install is the fact that there is so many wires behind the unit?

Small space is an issue but trying to line up the HU with the door opening is the biggest pain.

The wires aren't hard to get out of the way, mostly, once you see were to pull them. It's trying to get the faceplate to line up with the door (has to be at the right depth and tilt) that had me pulling my hair out.

I've had it go in right the first time, I've had it take an hour just to get it lined up. It really can be hit or miss.

You're hooked on the wired idea, eh? The IR DCI works on it, it's just that I don't have a wired version yet.
