JVC KD NX5000 Install on 05 AP2
Alright guys I know there are many posts about this specific headunit, Ive looked through everything so I thought it would be best if I made my own thread to address the issues I'm having.
I have an 05 s2k, ap2 and I want to install the JVC KD NX5000 headunit. I've also purchased the modifry wired DCI and adapter harness to go along with the setup.
I started out soldering the 4 long wires from the modifry adapter to the DCI harness, making sure to match the colors. I also soldered the other sets of main wires as well. Then I had them covered with the rubber shrink tubes.
I connected the modifry adapter to the car stereo harness and the headunit harness to the headunit. Then I changed the dip switches on the DCI to tap and press off, normal mute on, and headunit brand set to jvc.
I connected the grey SCV wire from the DCI module to the white/black speed signal wire which was on the second connector on the right side under the passenger dash access cover.
The parking brake wire/teal colored wire is not grounded yet.
Ive managed to get the door to close fine now, a few minor problems with the faceplate opening/closing but that can be fixed. The pink and brown wire in the back of the headunit, I believe one of them is the reverse signal wire, the other one I cant remember, where do they go?
The 3.5mm stereo plug from the DCI module cannot be plugged into the back of the headunit so I'm assuming we would use the DCI blue wire which is the ATT lead. Where does that connect because none of my wires have a tab stating they are ATT lead so I cant determine what wire to tap into.
So far the headunit works, the GPS isnt calibrating, it just states calibrating but doesnt complete. The DCI does not work at all, none of the controls work, I have yet to determine why. I have gone through the modifry troubleshooting but so far ive been unsuccessful.
If anyone could give me any tips on the wires I dont have connected and possible solutions, I would really appreciate it. I will add some pictures tomorrow to explain further.
