The price seems fair, but the seller has made some modifications. I'm a bit hesitant to buy it with the adjustments. Has anyone had experience with this seller or similar modifications?

My brackets came in from amayama. I paid $24.36.

I like the spacing from the ILX to the bezel up top. Obviously the bottom and sides need some work. I'm going to close up the other 3 sides for a better fit around the head unit. The amount the head unit is recessed also is an issue. If I recess the headunit another 1mm back, there will be a small gap in the upper left corner but will look much better in the other 3 corners.

There's also the question of how will this fit with other head units. I have no idea. I picked the alpine ILX becase I've had great experiences with alpine units. I know there are other shallow mount head units, and depending on how this goes I may explore fitting other models. The developing costs of this project are just growing at the moment.

Sorry this is taking so long, but it's going to get there.
Have you considered keeping the gap the way it is like the original? I like the gap. It allows us to use the gap fillers that normally comes with the head units.

Wanted to share the 3D printed pocket I created to replace the single DIN radio. Hopefully in the future I'll be able build in a slot for a MagSafe charger now that Alpine released the iLX-W670 which has wireless CarPlay.

This might be a dumb question, but couldn't you simply use a DIN pocket from another car? Specifically, a Honda pocket from this era should fit flawlessly.

No, I couldn’t find a pockets with the necessary dimensions. Poke around the audio subforum, most guys run a universal pocket and customs make brackets. Although they work, don’t look nearly as flush or nice as the one I made.

I have to outsource the CAD work as I don't know how to do it.

This looks amazing!

Would I be able to buy a print of this? I'm most likely moving out of the country later this year and it doesn't really make sense to bring the S2k with me, so I need to circle back and get this bezel situation wrapped up.
