Default Keep proxomity sensor OFF when ignition is on?

I have a radar detector and don't want the proximity sensor on my alarm setting it off when I am driving around.

Is there a way to keep the proximity sensor off when the ignition is on, and for it to go back on when the ignition is turned off? It seems counter intuitive but this is how it would have to be setup. The system is a Viper 330v and the install is next week.

Is this possible? If not I think I am just going to go alarmless to save my sanity from the constant beeping of the detector!

Have the installers hook up a relay to bypass the power side (should be red or black wires on the prox. for 12v and gnd) when the ignition is on.

The relay will just open up the wire on the circuit and close it again once off, power or ground doesnt matter which one they do.

Awesome - thanks for the heads up. Will let them know.

The alarm itself will be disabled while driving, so it shouldn't be an issue at all.

However, for me, the prox did set off my radar detector which was annoying. The prox sensor can be easily wired (with a relay) to go off when the car is on, and turn on when the car is off. Any even remotely decent shop should be able to help you out there.
