Has anyone installed the Kenwood eXcelon z828? Does it fit. How does it sound. Do I need an amp to start, or can I add later?

Crutchfield has this for $399 and it seems to be a great buy.


Lucid, can I buy through you and you wire it up for me (+$75)? I also need to get rear speakers.

I saw this too. I have a JVC SH-99 in my other car right now, but the Kenwood 828 seems to be a very good head unit for the $399 price. The only reason I picked the SH-99 was my inability to justify $630 for the Kenwood. I don't recall anyone on this board getting one though - the SH99 and the Alpine were the 2 main choices.

 

z828 is last year's model, they're just clearing out of it at that price. It's a high end model so its worthwhile. If you go with it and want it wired up (dash and rears) drop me a line
