Key Fob Programming Issue
I’ve ordered 2 key fobs off of EBay, and when trying to program them, after I enter the programming mode, and click the lock/unlock buttons, I hear the actuators clicking (but not unlocking/locking) and after I exit out of the programming mode, nothing happens. The fobs still don’t lock/unlock the car. I checked and doesn’t look like I have the factory add on (security?) system, as I don’t see any lightbulb on the center console.
any ideas? Bad actuators? Some kind of locking motor?

were the OE keyfobs? I had no zero pairing my new OEM keyfob to my newer S that I bought for my older one. It takes a few times to get the timing right but barring nothing wrong with the fobs themselves, very DIY-friendly. Also if you haven't already, replacing the cell battery in there is good peace of mind to rule out a weak signal .

I don’t think it’s a weak signal, since during the programming mode it has no issues activating the actuators, and it’s just not connecting to anything after I exit out of it (and the light on the fob is still coming on) but I suppose changing out the batteries doesn’t hurt lol.
Unlocking manually from the driver side does not unlock the passenger, which I believe is normal?
