All the devices use 904nm infrared.... but they have different pulse frequencies. The valentine doesn't pick that up, it just cares about the wavelength. You can set your valentine off by shooting it with a tv remote control, since those operate at 904nm too.

A laser jammer will detect the laser signal, analyze that particular gun's pulse frequency, and then send a matched return signal. That's how they can jam the gun without the jamming signal getting filtered out.

The cruise control systems use different frequencies than the laser guns....

If there was the slightest, and I mean the SLIGHTEST chance that a laser jammer would cause an adaptive cruise control to malfunction in a way that threatened anyone, the states in their never-ending quest for revenue^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hsafety would make them illegal in a heartbeat.

Yes, if you go to the Avatar page on MyS2K and attempt to change it, you will be left with no Avatar at all and only can add one of several "precanned" Avatars.

i do appreciate the warning rworne. i had actually intended to update mine w/ a similar rear end shot that was updated to include some of my more recent mods. that avatar was taken like a day or two after i bought my S.
now, i'll just keep it as is, since i like the way it's easily recognized...

i wish they'd just let me host my own...
