Thanks for the info PJK3, now I don't feel like the odd man out

no problemo.

basically it comes down to there is some sort of EM interference that's leaking over to the detector. if you're under warranty, call Escort. they will repair/exchange it for you w/o question, as they were aware of the problem when i talked to them.

OK, now it even gets better, every time I hit my trunk release button the Laser goes off... now I'm on a mission to see how many Laser "tiggers" I have!!!

Is it the fluid pump moreso than the fluid itself?

-- trunk release as well? too funny

and yes, it isn't the fluid doing it... as we've shown in several cases, it's various sources of electro-magnetic noise. (aka motors, relays, etc.)

Send it back to Escort and have them check it out. I sent my 8500 back to them because the sensitivity seemed really low and they put in a new antenna and calibrated it at no charge. It was under warranty though.

Just for kicks I took the 8500 out of the Pilot and put it back in the S2000. My washer fluid does not set it off, nor anything else I tried.

yeah, if you're under warranty - send it back. they did that for my Odyssey and it came back right as rain. took them less than 2 weeks turn around time.

It's not the fluid, it's the washer fluid motor... crappy, lossy, EMI-ridden motors. Trunk release is a solenoid... crappy, lossy, EMI-ridden solenoids
