Yo, i went to buy a jensen head unit with an lcd moniter at circuit city. However when they were about to install it, they said that the moniter would no be able to fit. However i am pretty sure thAT i have seen S2k's with the in dash moniters. Can anyone give me any advice. Do i need a spacer? or should i just give up on the lcd. Pictures would help. Thanks

If you're talking about a flip out screen mounted in the stock DIN location, then no, it will not work. It'll either not clear the shifter, or not clear the dash overhang. If you did find one that would (I believe the D-310 from Alpine can be made to fit if you disable it's motorization), it still wouldn't work because the screen would sit too close to the shifter and whenever you went into 1st, 3rd, or 5th, the shifter would go through the screen.

A search for the "Dash Cutting Club" post will yield pictures of solutions some have taken. The most popular is cutting the dash and making a bezel to mount a screen in the dash. Others have cut out a 1-din slot in the dash and relocated their stereo there. One installed a drop down motorized screen out of the air vents about the stereo to mount a screen. Some pop up from the cener top of the dash, others have replaced the airbags. All of these solutions will require custom fabrication to some degree.

But a flip-out screen in the default location just won't work.

Thanks for the information. It was very helpful. It's such a shame that such a hot car cant have an LCD in it unless it's custom made....

Well it was fairly easy for me,... but its all relative, I've worked with fiberglass for a while now. Do you know how to work with fiberglass?

Has anyone seen a pop-up LCD screen in the dash of a S2k?

Instead of a dash cut job, I would like a stealthy install, similar to a G35 OEM nav system?
Anyone seen anything like this?

I've seen one in an issue of Super Street once where it popped out from the top of the dash how you are describing. Not sure about which issue or anything.
