Default LCD in visor

I am going to be in the market for an s2000 very very soon, the only thing that I don't like is the lack of a good lcd dvd for it. Has anyone put 1 or 2 lcd on the sun visor?

thanks

Driving the car's not entertaining enough? You need to watch movies, too?

I think at least one owner here has done a DVD based nav system in the center of the dash, and of course such a system is available in Japan. I haven't seen a visor-mounted LCD yet, but I'm sure someone will try it (maybe you)!

Good luck,

Ted

I think that it is the cheapes way to go. If you mess up the visor I am sure you can get a replacement for no more than $100, but if you mess up the whole dash who knows. Just wanted to know if anyone had tried so that they gave me good dimensions for the lcd. I know there are some that are 3/4" thick and those should fit nice. Also important is how much glare would they produce. I am also planning on getting the nav system from Alpine in Europe so that I don't have to mess with the controls.

I was originally going to try the sunvisor, since both of mine have power supplied to them for lighted mirrors. Its intention is an information display (local area traffic included), so it had to be visable while driving. After mounting it, i determined it was too close to my face. Focusing on it is very difficult -- even more so while driving.

I ended up taking a cellular phone car mount (found at radioshack), took off the grip unit, and screwed the TFT's back case frame to the mount. It now looks like a professional TFT mount, and i can stick it on my dash with the double-sided adhesive that comes with it. I havent build the nerve to actually attach it yet

There are a lot of TFT stereos now. I have no idea if the S has a single or double din. Looking for interior shots so i can plan things out.

Single DIN.

... and ZERO room to spare.

I wish there was room for an lcd din. It would make it so much easier. Does anyone know if there is going to be a navi option on the s2000. I mean how hard can it be for them to make the same dash in revers and install the same electronics. I am sure everyone would get the option.

I still think the LCD in the visor is the way for most to go with Nav/dvd systems in this car. You don't NEED to use the stock visors, just something that fits. You can hide it easily by flipping it up and it'll give you an excellent heads up display.

The only snafu is that a nav system is a pro level installtion. Regardless of where or how you have your LCD mounted.

Lucid
i have been to your site and I like it.
I don't know about the quality of some of them speakers, like I like the polk, but they are low on wattage.
Just one question, have you also mouted separates on the rear panels.

Yes...Polks. Work great. You shouldn't be running to much power through 4's anyway. That is what the 6.5's and sub are for.
