looking for a 2 channel amp
You know what? When I came to Tally in September, I had no time to think about letting you know I was on my way. However, I will be in Tally in Feb for the FSU career expo. So I will have to let you know when I'm headed that way so you can hear the system.
I'm thinking about making some changes to it in the meantime, especially since I just had the whole thing taken out because I thought I was going to sell my car and the system.
However, I've decided to keep both!
I will tell you that my mids/highs sound better than any other S2K setup I've heard. But, I'm still wanting to do something for my sub. I have way too much bass, and it's not as tight as I'd like. But I did see that my friend's S2K with a sealed enclosure and JL8w7 also had similar sound that we just can't get around since we have S2K's.
Nothing going on in Gville now that football is over and the holidays are upon us. But if you feel like coming down, let me know so we can meet up. We have a few other S2K's in town as well.

Another question, are you sure you're not going to get a sub anytime in the future at all?

Other brands you should look at are JL Audio, MTX, Alpine.... don't recommend the Audiobahns though (from what I've heard and read they are very overrated).... your price point helps a lot in determining which amp is good for you as well...
My audiobahns have been installed for 2 years+ (I dont even have the top of the line amps from them), working FANTASTIC, not one problem, and put out good, very clean power.
But, you can pay 2 times as much and get half as much with JL is you like.
[QUOTE=NFRs2000NYC,Nov 24 2004, 10:00 PM] You say audiobahns are bad, but MTX is good!?

audiobahn is a full out generic brand. people who disagree are ricers and stunnas. i am an audio installer and in all the years ive been installing, audiobahn is just as bad as legacy, performance teknique, power acoustik, dhd and all the other shit brands out there.

ahahhaahha, ur saying audiobahn is better than MTX? its funny when people actually think audiobahn is a reputable brand.

just take a look at how they rate their amps, they claim 2000 watts but only have a 50 amp fuse on the amp itself. thats the character of a generic amp.
MTX rates their stuff pretty conservatively. not only that, the MTX 9500 series sub will rock the shit out of any audiobahn woofer. being that Xtant is now owned by MTX, engineers at MTX copied a lot of Xtants orignal work and apllied it to some of MTX's own line.
no doubt did it last u two years, i have seen other generic brand amps last longer, that doesnt mean anything.
clean power? wut other amps have u possibly used in the past to compare? im sure nothing that great or else u would not being using audiobahn now.
try a "real" amp and then tell me the audiobahn is clean and powerful.
the most powerful and cleanest amp i have tested to date is the TRU Technology Copper series. TRU Technology copper series amps

First of all, you have to know what amps go for which application. Second, unless youve personally used them, and didnt like them, it doesnt mean squat. Everything I state comes from first hand experience.
Just because you are an audio installer (if you really are) doesnt mean you know anything. Circuit City installs amps too....get my drift.
Oh, and if Audiobahn is generic, then JL must be free on a street corner generic.
And yes, Audiobahn is MUCH better than MTX ANYTHING....this is from experience. Not from a magazine my dog's cousin's wife had.
Just because MTX owns XTANT doesnt mean anything. Soundstream is owned by a lawnmower company, I doubt they are sharing technologies. They "own" XTANT only from the business end, they will not share anything.
I dont even know why I wasted my time on you.......go sell your BS somewhere else.
Brax and Tru? Come on now! That's not even fair. Comparing those to nearly ANYTHING else is pointless. Unless you're independently wealthy, or sponsored, you aren't going to drop $1500-$3000 on a 250w amp!
Each of the models I listed deliver clean, usable power. In fact, they'll deliver more power than you really need with very little distortion. To me, the MTX vs. Audiobahn argument is like arguing Ford or Chevy. It's all well and good until someone shows up with a Ferrari.
Do some legwork for yourself. Search the internet on the models you originally selected including THD, S/N ratio, and stereo seperation. You'll find that each of these models bests what you listed quite comfortably, albeit at a higher price. Since you said the money was not that big a deal to you, check them out. You might add the Audison to that list as well as was mentioned in a previous post. I personally think they are a bit expensive for what you get, but there is no doubt they are a quality product.
I just hope I get the chance to actually INSTALL some of this stuff in the spring if I still have my S. I am truly looking forward to having good sound in the car for the spring months.
Best of luck.

the TRU copper series is 250x2 or 124x4. and the price is $2500. hahaahaha.
call me crazy, but i might buy one soon. but my price is also A LOT cheaper.
NFRs2000NYC, if u have heard almost every amp in existance, how would u compare the audiobahn A8001DT, to a Ballow Audio LK800.1?
i'm in need for an amp for my 2 12" audiobahn subs (the older high compression subs) but i have limited money to spend. I forgot how much the audiobahn goes for, but the Ballow Audio amp goes for about $750. you seem to know a lot about audiobahn and it would make sense for your opinion. thanks!
