I was incorrect when I wrote that #12 went to the wiper motor - it's really
the windshield washer motor, as you've observed. With the fuse out, use
a multimeter to check for continuity between the top switch and the fuse
holder for #12

all wiring issues/problems that i know of :
1)Roof, obviously
2) Windshield washer motor just stays full on when i put a fuse in
3) cd player does not play, just ejects cd when i put it in,
4) stereo turned off/on really randomly few times.
5) i have no highbeams, headlight wires were all snipped off when car was stolen, so i basically just have xenons hooked up and just wires to the corner lights, i havnt even thought about wiring that up yet, which i would like to do before i sell it....
6) i have a quick release, no cruise control etc, horn is on a little button hanging down, all wires were snipped when stolen im assuming, thats why im assumin last owner put the quick release...
7) when i turn on wipers, the first one down does nothing, and the trunk light flashes, all others work but trunk light flashes
8) winshield washer motor obviously a no go....

i am using one of the online pdf files of a manual, 01-03 s2k manual from hondahookup.com

more progress....i just pulled steering column down and a few of the int pieces... i guess the horn button had something to do with something, i connected it back to the oem place (little black switch which im assuming goes to the oem steering wheel that i dont have) and i put a fuse into the washer motor spot, it blew the first one (ignition was on) and i put another in, the washer motor at least does not turn on full time, now the wipers work, but still trunk light blinks, and the washer motor does not work either way, either does the top switch. :/

so i just pulled out half the car, and thought about something... the wiring on the cluster has all been snipped at one point, and there are a few wires that have never been reconnected. can someone tell me what the red/green wire for example are?? im pretty dissapointed right now in whoever would leave a half ass job like this, especially in an s2k!

on 2nd note, i undid the soldering that i did on the switch, and i put a +12v on the black/white wire to the switch, (keep in mind there is no fuse in fuse box,) as soon as i did that, the windshield washer motor went on and sprayed me down. so with that in mind, i but the +12v to the other end of the switch and tried it, the windows rolled down, but the roof would not go either up or down. anybody have any ideas...??

im really hoping to have her back together today so that i can drive her tomorrow still.

if i was you to make it easier.. run a fused acc straight from the ign to the power source of the switch. that way it will work it it was and cut off the end going back to the harness.

Honestly...I hate to say this...but at this point, your best bet might be to see if you can replace the entire harness. Hondaautomotiveparts.com should be able to at least get you a part number.

Sounds like an incredibly shoddy job of rewiring was done before you purchased the car. In this case, trying to troubleshoot all the wiring problems over the net is going to be nearly impossible (doable, but not at all easy or efficient). I think reinstalling the dash/cabin/lights harness(es) is probably going to be the easiest solution.

Good luck

^^ i would run a power directly to the switch, but the problem is, the top still does not go up or down, it just brings the windows down. :/

^ i wish i could get a new harness.... im selling this car and just wanted to fix everything before i sold it, i would hate to have someone think that i sold them a piece of crap car. the more i uncover now, the more im hating the previous owner.... :/ oh well...

does anybody know if the wiring on the gauge cluster could possibly trip out the switch/washer? b/c there are a few wires that hvnt even been connect back, just snipped as they always were....

acc- white/red
sunroof-(open) red/black
sunroof-(close)red/yellow

to test if either are getting power.
depending on if the switch reads at + or - put a mulitmeter on a ground source and put the red lead to either or the wires. it should read 12 volts either way. if not check if the pins are loose, if it does contacts maybe broken inside the actual switch.

it should be a three wire switch. open,close,common(12v) pull out a meter and start testing.

to be safe, just reconnect everything. some things might be wired in a way if one thing isnt connect it will not make one thing work. for example your top. imma go check my fuses to see exactly which ones will make the top not work for you since im at the shop now
