Default Looking for a brighter High Beam Head Lamp.

Where i live has many dark unlit roads and it can be a little crazy after awhile driving down them. I was wondering if anyone has ever been able to upgrade their High Beam Head Lamp. I know its not a HID bulb light the low beam. Any suggestions.

I see that hella makes a set with the same wattage as my current ones. They also make a set that is 100 watts. Would that be to hot? I dont wanna burn out my headlight housing.

Here is what I switched to. http://suvlights.com/product_info.php?products_id=133
They are 85 watts and have a very noticable improvement over the stock high beams. They have higher watt versions but 85 watts did the trick for me. They have a gold/yellow tint to the high beam. Looks cool and is really bright in my book.

Wow thanks. Yeah those look awesome. Do you know if they will get to hot for the housing? How long have you had them in your car?

I've had them for over a year with no problems. The H1 bulb is a little hard to change in the s2000 (need small hands) but other wise easy to do. Since they are 85 watts I think this is safe as far as heat goes. If you search these forums some of the guys in Europe are running the much hotter 100 watts ones without problems. That might be pushing it in my book. 85 watts is plenty bright and is a very noticable improvement over the stock ones. Also since our high beams do double duty as the driving light in the daytime, when you look at then straight on they have gold/yellow color. From the side you don't really notice it though. Good luck with what ever you decide.

Nice catch!

The hella yellowstars are great, but in the US will get you busted in some places fast, as the nippon crowd runs them and HID yellow spectrum. But the light curve for 100 w lights is nuts, 20% of the bulb life and some do cause UV cracking of the lens.
