The main reason why i want BT streaming is so that i can stream navigation instructions from phone, streaming music and taking calls is also nice. would like SD-slot, dont care about CD player or iPhone controls..... Crutchfield seems to have only shitty ones.....Sony units are ugly, Clarion is questionable too....
Funny i would have put my 2cents in but you said sonys are ugly.................then you get one.OK
Yeah i know, because i didnt consider that line. I thought its for iPods/iPhones only, I didnt realize it has a regular USB connector inside that pocket. All other Sony units I actually dont like.

Should have everything in hand in a few days and install this weekend.

I like clean look of mvh-p8200bt, but no A2DP here and it was $40 bucks more

Installed the unit. Looks goods and works great with stock speakers. Haven't tested bluetooth phone conversation quality yet, but phones connects fine, phonebook synced etc..... Bluetooth music works great, I am finally able to listen to my favorite radio stations....and there are 1000s to choose from. Didnt play with EQs, just used Sony preset for now. Sound quality on STOCK speakers is pretty much the same on all 3 outputs, radio, bluetooth, and USB stick.

FYI. even some dash controls can operate phone through Bluetooth. I havent tried alot, but I was able to skip to next song in Pandora and Android Player. Lately I find myself listening to Bluetooth only....you got Pandora, Tune-in radio, and bunch of files on SD-card....

So, this unit has no Aux (mini headphone plug) input? I don't have an Iphone - I listen to Pandora via my Android....

So, with bluetooth, it sends pandora wirelessly to the head unit? WOWWWW!

Does it have handsfree as well? Do I need to install a microphone?

What harnesses did you use for the unit and the steering controls? I see everyone suggesting modifry?

I see crutchfield has this headunit on sale right now. I probably should jump on it. I APPRECIATE your reply!

Yes, its one of not many head units thats able to stream wireless music through Bluetooth. It does not have AUX out, but it does have MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) though USB, although I have no idea if it works with my phone or any other phone.

It has hands-free and Pandora pauses and resumes automatically if you get a call. Mic is built-in and has 2 settings for GAIN and 2 settings for noise cancellation. Its ok, but if you want better quality you can always purchase the external mic XA-MC10.

I used Modifry harness and dash control, works great.

One think to note is this unit does not output text from Pandora. If you purchase next model up DSX-S310BTX, I believe it does.....but I have no idea if you need to plug-in your phone or its capable of pulling that data through Bluetooth. < Might wanna call Sony or Crutchfield on this and how it works.

I could care less about text from Pandora, but thanks for pointing it out. I think this unit will work just fine and the red buttons should match the dash.

One last question - what pn# did you order from modifry?

I just ordered the HU from crutchfield --- YAY!

I have no idea. Just choose harness for Sony

EDIT: also noticed that Android tablets 3.0+ and phones 4.0+ support MTP via USB. I checked my Android phone running 2.3 and it didnt work. Display said not supported, but USB-Storage option works fine
