you need an aftermarket deck. nothing else you can do.

just adding speakers will not do anything because the output sucks from the factory deck

You can do without an amp. Look at some pro audio drivers. There are 6" speakers out there with 99db of sensitivity. These will get louder off the deck than car audio speakers ever will off any amplifier. In return you tradeoff bass performance. Don't expect much midbass let alone bass and subsonics. It will get loud no doubt.

111db from 16watts. This can easily kill your drums on the way to Vegas.

If that's a concern then don't overlook the Modifry DCI. You don't have use the stock radio to retain the dash controls. You'll have far more options if you consider aftermarket head units.

When I got my S the first thing I did was replace the HU and speakers. I put 2 ways in the first time and then replaced them with components. The sound quality was much improved, but not until I gave them some power was I able to overcome road and wind noise to hear the music. I put a small amp in and was able to hear music traveling top down much better. I came across a great deal on a much better and more powerful amp and now I can listen to anything shy of an audiobook at hwy speeds.

I would suggest - don't skimp and do it right - or you will be doing it again. A aftermarket HU and Modifry's DCI along with a good set of speakers is a must.

Polk DB651s are direct install with 0 modifications needed to the door. They are bright sounding with as much bass as the factory speakers. You will need an adapter for the wiring or cut the wires. If you are looking for a good set that, (one, direct installs, two, sound very clear and three, will sound good with subs in the back), this is a great set. Installed in 30 minutes using the step by step guide on this site.

BUT...

Not loud enough; so like many have already said HU, blah blah blah...
