Lucid audio still around?
after reading about the high costs of a frekaing install of headrest spwakers ill just go new headunit and rears. I'll get the high end $180 on their website but...are those guys still around? do they ship promptly?
Yes, Lucid is still around. I think he is no longer a site sponsor so does not hang out here any more.
I had a pair of rear speakers in Lucid cut panels with a Lucid harness in my 01 and they worked well - helps with the weak OEM stereo to be able to hear it with the top down. It is just for fill, not for quality since the speakers are firing into the backs of the seats you are not going to get any quality.
If you are NOT going to stick with the OEM stereo, I would recommend skipping any of the rear speakers and get a more powerful stereo and some better door speakers. Even better (of course) is a new HU and an external amp with some better door speakers. You should have no trouble hearing the stereo top down at speed without the need for any rear speakers (either in spods or Lucid panels).
