modifry dci vs. ebay
I've been a multiple owner of the modifry dci and have zero complaints.....except the price
has anyone used one of the cheaper alternatives?

Didn't know these were an option. Curious if anyone has experience with them. My car came with a Sony headunit and my dash controls don't work. I'd like to get them hooked up.

Looks like there are a few threads mentioning the Connects2 stalk lead.

You might have more luck asking in a UK regional subforum though.

Lots of people using non-Modifry controls in the UK with good results (Autoleads, Connects2, Celsus etc).
Not as many functions as the Modifry, and the mute doesn't always work with all head units but much cheaper.

I am installing Modifry DCI and wiring harness for my new Sony. Here it is. Total was $102. Just finished the connections with Posi Locks. Easy.
Not sure how much the eBay stuff is but after all the work and effort I am making to install the new head unit, a few extra bucks for some thing that is specifically designed and works great for this car is absolutely worth it.

The mute does work and should work with any headunit, you have to attach the wire to the 'Attenuate' or 'ATT' wire, it doesn't totally mute the stereo but reduces it to about 25% which is ideal anyway.
